Plants in the Crassulaceae family
Stonecrop family — succulent leaves, drought tolerance, bright light.

The stonecrop family — Crassulaceae — is the dominant family of houseplant succulents. Jade plants, echeverias, sedums, kalanchoes, and crassulas are all crassulaceae. They share thick water-storing leaves, a strong preference for bright light, and a hard line against overwatering.
If you've killed succulents before, it was almost certainly overwatering or too little light. The plants here punish both equally. Soil should drain freely; water should arrive only after the soil has dried fully.
Pet-safety varies sharply within the family. Some species (jade) are toxic; many others (echeveria, sedum) are non-toxic. Don't assume one based on another — check each card.
